What to listen for

If the powers are about protecting others, being strong, or being seen and admired, they may be reaching for a sense of being capable and important in the eyes of people around them.

If the powers are about flying away, disappearing, or being invisible, gently notice that, it might just be imaginative fun, or it could be a small signal they sometimes wish for more freedom or a break from being watched and managed all day.

If they say "I don't know," ask what color the outfit would be first, sometimes a small detail unlocks the bigger picture.
