Whether the joke lands perfectly or falls flat, their eagerness to share it shows they want your attention and delight. Give a big, genuine reaction either way.

If they can't remember one, ask them to make one up on the spot, the process is more important than a polished punchline.

A giggly, silly delivery is a great sign they feel safe being goofy and seeking your laughter.
