What to listen for

If they describe asking calmly, walking away, or getting a grown-up, they already have real tools for handling this common frustration without it turning into a blow-up.

If their answer involves grabbing, yelling, or giving up entirely, that's useful, honest information, a good moment to practice one calm phrase together ("can I go after you?") they can use next time.

If they say "I don't know," that's an invitation, not a failure, role-play it lightly together so they have something ready for next time.
