What to listen for

If they name a specific skill with admiration rather than jealousy, that shows they're comfortable looking up to someone close to them without feeling less-than.

If they seem a little grumpy naming it, that's worth gently normalizing, wanting a skill someone else has doesn't mean they're behind, it means they're growing.

If they say their sibling can't do anything better, that's fine, ask about a friend's skill instead.
