What to listen for

If they answer quickly and with detail, their imagination is active and thriving, and they feel comfortable sharing that private world with you.

If they pick a world known for safety or order, notice that, it might reflect a quiet wish for more calm or structure in their own daily life.

If they can't decide or say none, that's fine, some kids express imagination more through creating than through choosing existing worlds.
