What to listen for

If they name someone with warmth, that lingering care after drifting apart shows loyalty that doesn't just disappear with distance, they need that instinct honored, maybe even gently encouraged.

If they seem unsure how to make the first move, that hesitation is completely normal, they need to know it's okay not to have a plan yet, reconnecting doesn't have to happen on a deadline.

If they say they're at peace with the distance, respect that fully, not every relationship is meant to be revived, and knowing that is its own kind of wisdom.
