What to listen for

If they can recall this, it's a genuinely sophisticated realization for their age, that disagreement isn't just conflict, it can be useful. Celebrate that insight specifically, since it's a seed for how they'll handle disagreements as they get older.

If they can only remember disagreements that stayed fights, that's normal, gently offer a memory of your own where you disagreed with someone and it led somewhere good, to plant the idea.

If they say "I don't know," ask about a time they and a sibling or friend wanted different games and ended up combining them, that's often the easiest example to find.
