Tonight with your 5 to 8 year old
The prompt
“What was the moment today you felt closest to me?”
What to listen for
If they name a small everyday moment (a hug, a joke, doing something together), that tells you connection doesn't need to be a big event, it's already happening in ordinary minutes.
If they can't think of a moment today, ask about yesterday instead, or just take it as a cue to create more small moments this week.
Whatever they say, resist correcting it or explaining what you meant to do, just take in what actually landed for them.
What this tells you
This tells you exactly which small, everyday moments are actually making them feel close to you, which may surprise you.
