“What was the moment today you felt closest to me?”

What to listen for

If they name a small everyday moment (a hug, a joke, doing something together), that tells you connection doesn't need to be a big event, it's already happening in ordinary minutes.

If they can't think of a moment today, ask about yesterday instead, or just take it as a cue to create more small moments this week.

Whatever they say, resist correcting it or explaining what you meant to do, just take in what actually landed for them.
