What to listen for

If they can recall a real example, they're developing the flexibility to update their own thinking instead of just digging in, a genuinely rare and valuable skill worth celebrating clearly.

If they insist they never change their mind, that's common at this age and not a red flag, you can share a time you changed yours, modeling that it's a strength, not a weakness, to be persuaded by a good reason.

If they say "I don't know," that's fine, this is a big, abstract question, and just planting the idea tonight is enough.
