What to listen for

Symbols tied to togetherness or shared activities (all of you holding hands, a favorite shared food or game) show a strong, secure sense of family identity and belonging.

Symbols tied just to themselves (their favorite animal, their name in big letters) show healthy self-focus at this age, which is completely normal and not a concern.

If they can't decide, ask what one word describes your family best, and build the image from that word together.
