What to listen for

If they invent something to help people or solve a problem, that shows a caring, purposeful imagination taking shape.

If they invent something purely for fun or chaos, like a giant bubble machine, that playful streak shows they feel free to imagine just for the joy of it, no serious reason required.

If they're stuck, ask what they'd want a robot helper to do for them.
