A clear, proud answer shows they're actively building a sense of identity that belongs to them, not borrowed from someone else, that's healthy and worth celebrating.

If they mention something they've gotten teased about, gently affirm that being different is exactly what makes it theirs, this is a good moment for real reassurance.

If they say nothing feels particularly "them" yet, that's completely normal too, you might mention something you've noticed that feels distinctly like them.
