“What kind of music or dancing gets you completely out of your head, even for a minute?”

What to listen for

If they answer easily and maybe even demonstrate a little, they feel free to be physical and unselfconscious around you, a sign of real comfort in their own skin, at least with you.

If they say "I don't really dance" but still name music that moves something in them, that's still valuable, the need is for release, not necessarily performance.

A quiet "nothing, really" might mean they haven't found their outlet yet, or that they're holding a lot right now, worth gently checking in on another day.
