What to listen for

If they name something quiet and specific, like drawing or building, that shows they're developing a comfortable relationship with their own company, which is a healthy skill.

If they say they don't like being alone at all, that's useful to know, maybe alone time could start small, like ten quiet minutes with a favorite toy nearby.

If they say "I don't know," ask what they do first thing when they have free time with nobody telling them what to do.
