If they describe a specific moment with detail, that memory of being understood is a strong sign they feel truly seen in this family, not just cared for physically.

If they mention a particular person consistently, that's worth noting warmly, it shows who they currently feel most emotionally close to.

If they can't think of one, that's useful too, it might mean it's worth creating more moments where you slow down and really name what they're feeling.
