What to listen for

An excited retelling shows they're feeling good about stepping into the unknown and trying new things. Ask what surprised them most about it.

If the new thing felt scary or hard at first, praise them specifically for trying anyway, regardless of how it turned out.

If they can't think of anything, that's a nice cue to plan something new to try together this week.
