Tonight with your 5 to 8 year old
The prompt
“What's the coziest spot in the whole house to you, and why that one?”
What to listen for
If they pick somewhere tied to a person, like your lap or a shared couch spot, they're telling you closeness feels cozier than comfort alone.
If they pick a private spot, like under a blanket fort or their bed, that's them showing they also need a little corner of the world that's entirely theirs to feel safe.
If they say "I don't know," ask them to imagine it right now, "if you could teleport somewhere cozy this second, where would it be?"
What this tells you
Their coziest spot reveals whether they currently find the most comfort in closeness with someone or in a little space that's just theirs.
