What to listen for

If they name someone readily, it means they're actively looking for models of the kind of person or life they want to become, which is a healthy part of figuring out their own direction.

If the person is unexpected, an athlete, an artist, even a family friend, stay curious about what specifically draws them, rather than judging the choice itself.

If they say "secretly" made them hesitate, reassure them there's no judgment here; admiration isn't the same as wanting to copy someone exactly.
