What to listen for

If they suggest something like waiting for a pause or a signal to show you want to talk, they're showing real understanding that everyone deserves a turn to be heard, including themselves.

If their rule focuses mostly on wanting others to stop interrupting them, gently notice that, it might mean they're feeling unheard lately, which is worth a direct, warm follow-up question.

If they say "I don't know," bring up a specific recent moment of being interrupted to ground the question.
